Not all of our explorations are into nature… And about the Coke machine, there were still drinks in it. Lots of them. The copyrights on the cans said 1986.
Calcite crystals growing in a whelk. Found it near Jeremy Inlet in Edisto Beach.
Salt crystals collecting on oyster shells.
My best find to date. An extinct whale vertebra. Credit goes to Jeff for spending about 2 hours digging it out of a creekbed.
A tiny fossilized crab claw.
Ian’s favorite finds so far.
Wanted a full spread of all my Folly Beach goodies. Can’t wait to hit this spot again in a week with the boys. As a disclaimer, not all of these are fossils. The crabs are especially recent.
The Pleistocene horse’s tooth is my favorite, though I do love the pattern on the turtle shell pieces, too.
